This site is committed to the free exchange of ideas in a civil manner. Leave your flies out of the room. The purpose here is to explore ideas that can lead to solutions that benefit all, if not most, rather than some at the expense of others.

Don’t complain if you’re not willing to make the sacrifice of time to, at least, read about what concerns you. If you abdicate your involvement---you get out what you put in.

There's No Excuse.......

For ignorance.  Not when we have an internet that can connect us to almost any thought out there in the world.

For not knowing what other ideas are out there when we have the interconnectivity of Facebook, Twitter and email.

For believing in one sided ideas that comfort us because we’re afraid to face the truth.

For not comparing different ideas when the ones we hold on to aren’t solving current problems.

For believing in the belief of the day from 2500 years ago when because of no communication between parts of the world, the belief of the day was literally that.

For laziness when it comes to knowledge.  Not when the internet makes it so easy to get answers when we can simply Google or Bing for alternative views.

For believing there are insurmountable differences among people when we can simply travel the internet and read their views, understand their motives, and realize, deep down, they’re just like us because we share the same human universals.

For not making the same access to knowledge available to all people on earth that others take for granted simply because their opportunities in life are different.

Those opportunities befall people simply due to the luck of the draw, so to speak.  The child born in deepest Africa has less opportunity for education yet his genes are essentially the same; yet we make little effort to help equalize the playing field.

That a child should be raised with the idea that the goal in life should be to wipe out a sect of people because they took something from them; or they’re different other than culturally.

There’s no excuse for not seeking an alternative view or redress when the existing one is cause for conflict; as opposed to moving on with the injustice and attempting to correct the wrong.

There’s no excuse for dwiddeling over ideology when the world has serious issues of climate change, healthcare, aging populations, disease, famine and a host of other issues that concern us as threats to our humanity.

There’s no excuse for maintaining traditions of the past because you’re afraid of the future.

There’s no excuse to smoke cigarettes when there’s plenty of reasons and ways to stop; particularly when there’ll be help on this site. And particularly when all it takes is some willpower.  You weren’t born with a cigarette in your mouth; it’s not a vestigial organ.

There’s no excuse why some feel compelled to jump off bridges because they’re made to feel like outcasts from a group---of other people.

There’s no excuse why people of different colored skin shouldn’t have the same opportunities when it’s been discovered that underneath the color of the skin we find out we are essentially the same.

There’s no excuse for laziness unless that’s the charge of the day.  But to perpetuate fallacies because it takes a little effort to research the answer; there’s no excuse; particularly when people suffer because of ignorance.

There’s no excuse for not trying something different (we’re talking responsible behavior here, not “Jackass” stuff) because tradition says that’s the way it has to be.  If scientists and inventors believed that, some of us would not have moved beyond the Stone Age; yet some still act like they’re living in the Stone Age.

And for those who have not advanced beyond the teachings of a 2500 year old tribal story book and still think they are timeless tenets to live by; there’s no excuse.  Nothing is forever, nor should it expect to have to be; particularly when the world changes every day before our eyes.  And if things aren’t working out well, there’s no excuse not explore other solutions.  Why are only businesses expected to modify their M.O.’s when profits are down?

There’s no excuse for mankind not taking responsible approaches to problems that affect all yet some tailor the solutions to favor some; not to mention at the expense of others.

There’s no excuse for a lot of things, so why do they persist?

The status quo should never be acceptable when people suffer because of it.

There’s no excuse for denying human rights to anyone on earth regardless of any philosophical rationalizations to the contrary.  Human rights are inalienable rights afforded to all that transcend cultures, dogma, and transient opinions.  The reason being; all human kind is created equally, regardless of skin color.  There’s no excuse for failure to recognize this scientific fact.

It'll be a new world.....

When two adversaries enter a room to negotiate differences; in addition to leaving their guns at the door, they are handed secret documents advising them that, regardless of past misconceptions, between the two, there are no differences other than possible skin color and culture. Neither one is genetically different from the other.  They both share the same Human Universals.  They have the same family tree. They are almost brothers.  Is it possible the negotiations would proceed differently?  Would the world be a different place because of this information?

We used to have sun and moon gods.  Gods for the wind, rain, elevator gods, tax return gods and whatever else man couldn’t explain.  But apparently they died out as he discovered answers.  So the marketing team of the day, 2500 years ago, came up with an idea that could barely be challenged.  And because it couldn’t be seen to be challenged at the time, the idea was advanced as an enlistment tool for more “believers”.  Of course, today, should these ideas of all omnipotent, invisible forces be promoted, the scientific community would cry foul unless there was evidence; just the way nobody takes David Copperfield seriously.  Unfortunately, old habits, stories and myths, are hard to dispel once they’ve taken hold.  I mean, despite conclusive proof that Obama is a U.S. citizen, there are those still in disbelief.  Believe it or not, there is a flat earth society.

These 2500 year old dogma policies still dictate discriminatory treatment of individuals.  They still set the tone of discussions which have adversely impacted significant portions of earth’s populations.  Slavery, Apartheid, Palestinians and Arabs, African Genocide, sexual discrimination, are still issues that have not been addressed in light of discoveries that render all on the earth as of the same genetic flesh.  And more remarkable, almost brothers, so to speak, because some thousands of years ago there was what they call a population bottleneck.  There was a calamity that dwindled the human population to maybe 1,000 to 10,000 breeding couples.  That’s not a lot considering we now number 6 billion and we all came from those surviving couples.

“Black” people still look for recognition as black instead of claiming their right as co- inhabitants regardless of skin color. Why is black bad when people of lighter skin color seek tans?   Homosexuals still seek equal treatment, as though they’re different, despite findings that just because their sexual preferences are different from maybe yours, well so are yours different from theirs. But these preferences and behaviors are normal.  So, what’s the difference? Why should we care if we weren’t reminded about it every Sabbath?  Latinos, Asians, Indian etc. all look for individuality when it’s just a matter of time when there will be no appreciable difference.  There’s no difference now under the skin.  Wait another 100 years since endogamous barriers are rightly falling because of communication and man’s mobility.  Maybe there should be 6 billion identities or labels?

Seeking separate recognition for different behaviors or ethnicities is only buying into the “them vs us” mentality, that there should be something discussed when it should be unnecessary.  Buying into the thems vs. us recognizes what was taught 2500 years ago and still today on the Sabbath that homosexual behavior is an abomination and black people should still be slaves because the bible hasn’t changed its consent. Those are colonialist rationales.  Those rationales massacred millions of indigenous people, worldwide, from Native American Indians to Aborigines in Australia.  And those same beliefs are still taught every day.  And those who taught it have descendants that refuse to acknowledge the latest findings if they’re aware of them at all.  Do we still recognize eclipses as acts of moon or sun gods?  Do we still acknowledge “trial by ordeal”?  Why can’t we accept and teach the new information about homosexuality’s equality and the color of one’s skin could simply be the zip code for the person’s roots; and nothing more?

And all those who don’t believe in our culture or religion are infidels?  Sort of like; if our culture believes in no blue shirts on Sundays, then you’re an enemy if you do.  Remember, we’re all of the same ilk.  We all share the same human universals.  Some are just accentuated more than others because of environmental stimulation.

Imagine if ducks or rabbits, moose or cats, had similar beliefs or illusions as man.  Maybe that’s why they look at us askance? So who’s making the world a crazy place?  Ducks or us?  Just because we have a brain that can think, doesn’t mean we have to make mental gymnastics any more than we have guns, we should shoot everybody.  Ducks don’t make silly laws against buggery or eating certain foods.  Man complicates things all by himself.  But is it necessary, and are the complications defensible in light of others having their own cultures; such as no orange shirts on Saturdays?  Life would be so much simpler if we all started from the same premise that we are equal in all respects.  It’s our cultures that are different.  And if our cultures are reduced to respecting human rights, then our bright minds can address solving more important issues like world hunger, energy resources, global warming, aging populations, jobs, education, planned parenthood, etc; issues that concern all of us on the same planet instead of fighting for dictating whether one likes butt poking, male or female, women walking behind their husbands, what foods can be eaten when, how many times one must hit the pavement prostrate to a god, blue shirts, orange shirts, and all the other do’s and don’ts required to be a member of a “group”.  Forming groups might be a human universal, but the reasons for the formation shouldn’t be timeless, erroneous, myths.

Right now the world seems like a spaghetti bowl of issues that escape resolution.  But they can be resolved by eliminating the subjective cloud of man’s creations; his diverse and conflicting, cultural dictates.  Boil down to the Human Universals and Human rights we all share that should take precedence in our needs.  Solve those issues first without prejudice to cultural or manmade dogma.  We all know, as a practical matter, there are no gods but are too afraid to deny their existence for fear of being labeled outcasts from the group. It’s the elephant in the room; just like there are no little green men from Mars.  But to solve our earthly problems, because the gods aren’t, we have to leave our misconceptions at the door, and get serious about our common needs.  The Harold Camping’s aren’t going to solve our problems.  Those who advocate preconditions of dogma before addressing our issues have another agenda and deserve no place at the resolution table.  And those who enable those with the agenda can’t complain because they are helping create the impasse.  We all know what side of the issues we stand on; dogma or no; ignorance vs. intelligence, if you have to label.

Zionists Hurt the Jewish Brand

Let’s get this straight.  Zionists don’t speak for Jews the way Al Qaeda doesn’t speak for Islam, or evangelists don’t speak for Christianity.  Jews are to rectangles as Zionists are to squares.  The Jews are getting a bad name. The Zionists are earning theirs.  The Zionists in their zealous pursuit of their mission to control the “homeland” are besmirching the overarching Jewish identity; or the brand.  The brand, that in spite of ignorant persecution as being inferior to the rest of the world, they have strived to achieve a respectable place in the world’s society.  All Jews do not believe that to observe their faith or culture they can only do it in Israel.  Judaism is portable; just like any other religion.  So what the Zionists are is something of zealotry, of those same zealots that died on Masada 2000 years ago.  I would say, beware of copycats.  The Zealots, romantically, were suicidal (but also of the first to use terrorism).

Many Jews chose other areas to live after the Roman expulsion around 100AD.  See Stop the Israeli/Palestinian madness. They were a defeated tribe as there have been many over the millennia.  But their religion continued all over the world with the dispersement of its followers.  It was only until the end of the 19th century that Zionism came about with an emerging organization of Jews who believed that they should be able to return to their “homeland”. This became an ideological as well as a political movement that found support not only among religious Jewish fundamentalists, but enabled by others of the Christian faith.  It is this conservative faction that Benjamin Netanyahu and others belong, that established the state of Israel, and continues to remain intransigent in finding ways of preventing peace rather than searching for ways to compromise in the pursuit of peace.  But there are many Jews who don’t believe in this right of homeland and that’s why you sometimes hear the expression, “self hating Jew”;  which is nothing more than a typical smear tactic to delegitimize other Jews who don’t believe in the Zionist dream.  So the rectangle Jews are getting thrown under the bus from both sides.

Evangelists, or those on the right of Republicans, Tea partiers, use this issue as a wedge because, biblically, they empathize with Zionists.  For all they know or care about, they couldn’t care less if the end of days came because they believe in the second coming and they’ll spend the rest of their days with Christ.  I don’t know whether he comes here or they go there.  But apparently they believe there will be some reunion.  Hmmmmm.  Maybe, the evangelists have the ulterior motive for cheering on Israel in its disingenuous suicidal endeavor of expanding borders.  Perhaps if Israel is defeated then they get their ultimate revenge for Christ’s fate and the “Jews” get theirs.  Like, “let Mikey do it”.

As a matter of fact Israel is becoming more fanatical. Supporting Israel is becoming like supporting Iran.  But it’s a shell game.  It’s Zionists and Evangelists that enable this game; because they all believe the same fantasy.  Is Israel looking more like Iran being controlled by religious fanatics?  Should we be supporting this conduct or anyone (political party) who exploits this madness for their gain?

"One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail." -- Rabbi Yaacov Perrin, Feb. 27, 1994 [Source: N.Y. Times, Feb. 28, 1994, p. 1]

What’s the difference whether people are displaced from their homes in the interest of removing a particular sect of people because they are inferior; or others being told they cannot return to their homes because their property has been confiscated under the guise that it’s not theirs to begin with in the first place?  What’s the difference when one physically removes an ethnicity from a location and takes them to the gas chamber, and another situation where under the guise of security, an ethnicity is surreptitiously removed and told they can’t return?  Obviously, the gas chamber’s the difference.  But it’s just as inflammatory to say the 1967 borders are “Auschwitz lines”.  That’s like the race card; that’s the, “Oh we can’t defend ourselves” card, and we’ll be slaughtered card----who’s idea was it to confiscate the acquired territories in violation of the Geneva convention that says you can’t occupy thereby creating the situation?  The Zionists are playing this same game again.  So let’s remove the inflammatory part of the analogy and concentrate on the first part.  Because it seems the second action is an interesting ploy of media manipulation to gain sympathy and obfuscate the real situation; while simultaneously covering up their hate speech.

One sect has occupied a land that was occupied by another, and continues under the canard that they need more land to make secure the earlier confiscation.  It becomes expansionary right under our noses under another canard that it was theirs to begin with because of some deity given right 2500 years ago.  Really brilliant strategy, but only the gullible would fall for such a tactic, right?  And along the same logic, borders mean nothing because the earlier confiscated land needs more to constantly assure security for the previous acquisition.  It’s a pyramid game of some sort, but when does it end; when every inch a Jew has touched is confiscated?  Is this really the lie of the The Protocols of the Elders of Zion becoming true?  Netanyahu and accomplices, you are giving the Jews a bad name which gets confused with Zionism. You are practicing apartheid and racism.   Israel becoming a Jewish state has really become a Zionist’s state.  And you’re the ring leader, if not, losing control of your own extremists.

Is this any way to run a democracy when you have right wing zealots setting the agenda?  The same as WMD’s spin for Iraq and the Auschwitz lines are indefensible?   Paul Wolfowitz’s protégé, Dennis Ross, is the Mideast consultant to Obama who clearly is a “wolf” in sheep’s clothing.  Can we complicate things more?

Judaism is a religion and culture that can be observed from anywhere just as Christianity or Islam.  It’s the Zionists that control the agenda in Israel.  Even if Hamas said Israel we love you, the Zionists still wouldn’t believe it because their words to them are meaningless and the paper they’re written on would be unenforceable.  So they’ll still expand their settlements, because that’s their ultimate destination, and who’s kidding whom; demanding security is a smokescreen that can never be satisfied.  On the contrary, the more one oppresses, the oppressed becomes more frustrated and angrier.  What prevents Hamas from lobbing a bomb after they say I love you?  Having things to lose is what keeps Fatah from seeking the better “life” of 69 virgins.

The Christians don’t have to take control of the church of the Holy Sepulcher to be observant.  It should be the same with Jerusalem, and what it represents to all the religions, should be available to all. Al Qaeda to Zionists as Jews to Islam giving a bad name.  I get it.  Some bomb, some do apartheid.  Saudi Arabia to Al Qaeda, US to Zionists. Let’s make outrageous connections.

What’s the difference if you destroy a civilization with bombs or slowly from within by ignoring infrastructure, human rights, etc. not caring because if truly the end of days comes you’re happy because you’ll be dead.  But not really dead because you think you’ll be having tea in the garden of Christ.  I think you’re as loony as anyone else who believes in an afterlife; which includes Muslims dying to be with virgins.  Then what are you doing here and now---recruiting?  Yes, but that’s been mentioned in The Gospel in Somalia.

John Boehner invited Netanyahu to speak before the congress?  That’s chutzpah.  Going around the President?  That invite should clearly come from our leader unless the Boehner bunch has ulterior motives----duh---which they do.

Can a Michelle Bachmann, a grad of Oral Roberts University, be an impartial leader of our country?  Is Oral Roberts known for unbiased education of children?  How can we have a democracy when a significant portion of elected officials are influenced in their decisions by religion?  This is how we got into this mess. George Bush was a born again. I don’t care if these people want to believe in their deities, but the founders of our country did not intend our government to be influenced by religion. Look what happens anytime an extreme controls the decisions.  Are we stupid enough to risk another evangelistic president like the Bush fiasco?  We should have an atheist, if anything.

The Evangelical Michelle Bachman’s, Paul Ryans, Tim Pawlentys etc. are going to set us straight?  Straight to doom.  These on the right are the candidates who are aligning themselves with the Zionists because it’s religiously popular.  But it’s that ilk of religiously minded that got us into this predicament in the first place; Wilson, Truman, Bush!  We’ve been supporting intransigent, zealot ideologues, who keep us ignorant, blindly faithful, and dependent on oil.  There’s no way out with that formula unless we stop the enabling.

If there’s a rise in anti Semitism it’s because of Zionists who get the headlines and the rest of the Jews are lumped in.  So should Al Qaeda get the headlines as representative of all Islam?  Get the point?  They’re all fanatics.  Zionists just take themselves too seriously.  Religions are like vestigial organs of the past.  Many know they’re there but know they don’t offer much since science has contributed a lot more. But there are others who can’t give it up.  It’s their way of life.

The Zionists are doing to the U.S., now, what they did in the early 1900’s to the Arabs.  I doubt Wilson’s acceptance of the Balfour Agreement was contemplated with the understanding that a mass migration would result eventually culminating in the present day dilemma of secure boundaries and settlements.  Now we find ourselves dealing with a Zionist movement that practically dictates our moves because we’ve compromised our integrity for a dream that turned into a pariah.  It can only stop when we stop enabling the situation.  And what is it that compels our blind faithful support of a foreign policy that we clearly see is in conflict with our interests?  What is our unyielding support for Israel that we don’t blindly follow in other countries i.e. Iraq?  Iraq doesn’t have the religious agenda and, therefore, it doesn’t have a persuasive voting bloc.

So let’s not confuse this----all Jews are not Zionists. Even Hezbollah recognized this a few years back when they changed their advertising campaigns. Like all rectangles are not squares.  All Jews are not Zionists.  The right wing factor in Israel today is like having an evangelist president in the US today.  People should know that Zionists don’t speak for all Jews---just as evangelists shouldn’t speak for all Christians or Americans, or for that matter, Al Qaeda for Islam.

Zionists don’t even believe other sects of Jews are Jewish enough.  Zionists aren’t even aboriginal to Jerusalem whereas Arabs are native.  Zionists are immigrants by definition---returning to the homeland.  Haven’t they heard their “chosen” was nothing more than a rallying cry for the troops?  Like you tell your children, “Oh you’re so special”; really?  Their genes aren’t any different than anyone else’s’---even Palestinians/Arab’s.  So Hitler had it wrong, and so did the Spanish conquistadors slaughtering Native American Indians, and the homophobes, and the slave traders; all rationalized by 2500 year old dogma.  And when Zionists and the likes of Menachem Begin say Palestinians are “beasts walking on two legs”; it’s obnoxious to link old school Zionists and Jews.  It’s a shame that Zionists, most who have heritage to the Holocaust, in believing the way they do, have to treat others the way they’ve been treated.  And if they’ve taken over Israel, let them defend their own atrocities.  But human rights apply equally to all.

Apartheid and violating the Geneva Convention are not what my tax dollars should support.  We need oil? Maybe we should satisfy our oil needs first rather than sacrificing our good will for Zionist exploitation.  Let the Zionists defend themselves.  Zionists are lawyers parsing words when it comes to security?  Human rights transcend parsing words.  America---vote for Palestinian statehood.  Take it all to the next level and let The UN sort out the issues.  Ahmadinejad might be a loony---but it takes one to know one.  So Bebe and Ahmi are not loonies, they’re just fanatics playing their games and we, as monkeys, don’t try to get out from the middle.  Get off the oil addiction and stop enabling religious extremists with categorical support.
