Blame the Liars and the Ignorant

You can figure out who you are.  Blame the ones who tell the lies and the ignorant who believe them.  You can start with Greenspan, the shill, for the Republican/tea party mentality when he said we have a surplus that should be put back in the people’s pockets.  Did he ever hear of being prepared for a rainy day?  You can blame the liars, who after 9/11, went into Iraq instead of where the perpetrator was. They lied about WMD’s because they had another agenda. Never mind that there was a war that had to be paid for.  They paid for that war and another with a Chinese credit card.  Don’t blame the Chinese because they are the creditor.   And you can blame the disingenuous ones who said, to stimulate the economy we need tax cuts, called “trickledown economics”, because rich people want nothing more than to invest all of their tax savings to create jobs; not like they wouldn’t save it themselves.  Never mind that the scenario being acted out, of depleting government financial stability, is known as, “Starve the Beast”, which is intentional.  Starve the Beast means if there are no funds in the treasury there will be little left for social programs contributing to the general well-being and the measure of a secure society.  Keeping taxes low and the treasury empty means more for the well to do; less in times of need for everyone else.  So if you’re everyone else and feeling the pinch, you’re the ignorant if you believe and support them.  We had big deficits after Reagan and Bush II buying into this philosophy.  Ask yourself, are we better off now?

Now we blame and scapegoat teachers; who you would think we need, otherwise who wants to be educated by a slave?  They didn’t steal their piece of the pie.  Iimmigrants are labeled and targeted because they’re taking our lettuce picking jobs (never mind that we’re a country of immigrants); and the elderly and indigent, because they should still be working for their keep. When do we stop?  Labels and blame; labels and blame.  How and when did we get to where we are?  A momentary side trip.

Clinton.  You fended your conspirators off for six years until you couldn’t withhold and unzipped that door.  Hillary, you failed your man. You failed your country when needed because he couldn’t resist temptation.  Never mind about the queero republicans and their hypocritical sexcapades.  Bill, in addition to Monica, you blew it for Al.  We’ve gone downhill on a bunch of dangling chads from there.  What would the world be like if there were no blue dresses?  You really did think with the little head and got caught up in the moment.

We should blame the front men for corporations making more than their fair share at everybody else’s expense but we don’t because we believe their lies that more taxes mean fewer jobs.  So how come they’re making plenty---and where are the jobs?  Maybe they’re paying more than other countries comparatively speaking---but we are the America that HAD a higher standard of living. Maybe they’re outsourcing them to cheaper labor. Good, they’re making money AND raising someone else’s standard of living.  Are we supposed to compete for low paying jobs or should we move to alternative, higher paying jobs to keep raising our standard of living?  Or do we just throw up our hands in defeat?  We ARE in a global economy.  Why was it wrong when we were prosperous and had surpluses until the Bush bunch said there was a “better” way?  How’s that really worked out?  Maybe fine for a few---but I thought we were the U.S of A.  They lie when they don’t explain that a society that demands goods and services creates jobs.   Businesses, when it senses a demand, increase supply---thereby creating jobs.  The private sector won’t generate demand and they won’t arbitrarily increase supply unless there’s demand.  They can only satisfy it.  It’s up to the public sector in slow times, to create jobs.  But flooding the airwaves, to the contrary, won’t let the ignorant believe that.  Starve the Beast means starve the country.

They lie when they say there are no funds for infrastructure because the debt is too high.  They don’t tell you that “investing” in our future is not “spending”, and that wise investments pay for themselves, and the increased jobs pay taxes and pay down the debt.  People out of work cost more than people paying taxes. I’m not a socialist, but capitalism doesn’t mean every man for himself when we share bridges, roads, education systems, communications, energy resources, armies, and a host of other governmental support systems that have enabled us to manage our growth and social necessities as opposed to living in the wilderness. Not everyone can afford to buy at Barnes and Noble---that’s why we have libraries.  The simple availability of education is good for the country. Do we really emulate a Nigeria?  And don’t blame Obama.  He’s the hardest working dark skinned, fireman I ever knew.  But he can’t put out fires by himself.  Only liars blame him and the ignorant believe it.  I would reject any ideology, not to mention conservative economics, based on 2500 year old dogma.  Liars.

You can believe in any deities you want.  But if I were dark skinned or homosexual, I would renounce any organization or anyone who told me it would lead to eternal salvation if I believed in a deity or any mortal.  Liars.  And if they lie about that, what else wouldn’t they stop at?  I would renounce the very book that condoned my oppression which has led to apartheid and social injustice for centuries.  We’re still dealing with the fallout and repercussions.  The same “scriptures” (we’re talking about something out of the Planet of the Apes, right?) stated my sexual preference was a choice and therefore should be “punishable”, no less, by death; as opposed to other’s heterosexuality which is not a choice.  Why do I keep listening to their lies?

If I were a woman I would tell the men who want me to be subservient, based on 2500 year old dogma, to find another receptacle or oven for their sperm.  It’s their lies that endanger my children too.  Their lies that there are differences between men that some are “chosen”; others are beasts; others deserve what they get; and some are entitled; have done nothing for the betterment of our children other than fill them with false fantasies about a better life when their dead. Why shouldn’t we live for when we’re here on earth and try to make it the best place for all?  Liars they are.  And I’m shamefully ignorant for trusting and believing their hidden agenda.  It takes two to perpetuate the species.  If I continue to let them have complete autonomy, we won’t survive.  They have to retool their thinking---I have to help persuade them.

  1. I was looking for a way to email you, but I didn't find one. Anyway, it's about lying and ignorance, so I'll put it here.

You wrote a comment on a recent NYT article: "They [Hamas] don't have to be tortured into saying it [acknowledging Israel] but they can act it. There's much at stake for them too to live in a peaceful prosperous neighborhood. [...] By the same token, Israel's settlers are the equivalent of Hamas's diehards."

There are some mistaken assumptions here.
    - Hamas needn't expressly acknowledge Israel?! And why not? That's how governments set policy. If that will be their policy, let them say it.
    - They can act it?! If so, then let them. But they haven't. And experts who have studied the organization (as the NYT article even says) mostly agree that Hamas won't change any time in the near future.
    - Tortured?! - That's an awfully dramatic word here.
    - There's much at stake for them too to live in a peaceful prosperous neighborhood. - Which is exactly why it's so amazing to Jews and Westerners and really most non-Muslims that they aren't interested in peace. But they aren't. That's Islam. It's an all-or-nothing, war-like approach to life -- for better and for worse -- in this case, worse.
    - By the same token, Israel's settlers are the equivalent of Hamas's diehards?! - Ich. Come to Israel, meet a few settlers, meet a few Hamasniks. See if your opinion doesn't change.

    Swat some flies.

  2. At this point we’re mincing words. Something that people have gone to wars over. More importantly, how do we all find a way to live peaceably together with mutual respect?

I was in Jerusalem about 3 years ago and, more specifically, Hebron. Jerusalem, first of all, is a fascinating experience. It is an extraordinary feeling to experience the gravity of the city that has captured the imaginations of billions of people over thousands of years. It’s more than an archeological wonder. It is a Heritage site that should not be controlled by any specific state.

But the more profound experience was the day in Hebron, speaking with settlers, seeing the conditions; and a subsequent visit to Yad Vashem. I have not forgotten the moment that compels me today to pursue making my voice heard against man's oppression of man.

Across all ethnicities, from Genocide to apartheid, slavery to bigotry and discrimination, there are underlying reasons and misconceptions why it still persists. I am working to expose this. I am saddened that such hard lined tactics exist on all sides when, in reality, we are all of the same flesh and share the same human universals. The world currently operates in sound bites; but it doesn’t do justice to understanding and solving fundamental issues. We should ALL be working towards this goal.

Isreal is the son of satan, born from his breast. Satan is the USA. I know this to be true because I live (and grew up) in Red Neck Virginia. It's a sort of fascist police state that borders our nations capital. Much like Isreal.

The Europeans came and stole this land from its inhabitants, the native Americans. Isreael, being the son of satan has followed in Satan's footsteps.
The settlements and the occupation of post '67 borders is a mirror reflection of Americas past. America (satin) and it son Israel will never change using their evil policies.

I am not an Islamist, those bastards are fools like the Native Americans. Too proud and ignorant to realize they are fighting against a goliath. The cultural differences of the Arabs in the region resemble the various tribes of the Americas. Fighting amongst themselves with no leadership or unity.

Satin is winning, and his son is right there to follow in his foot steps.

    Someone let the flies out!

  4. @No Flies: I could not agree more with you on the topic of this ark business. WTF? This builder (who, interestingly, has a business which is very active in Israel) has nothing better to do? I get sick thinking of all the energy, materials and time used for this project which would seem to me better spent on something more helpful for the community at large.
    Yikes.
